To set and strengthen the National Association of Christian Schools - Rwanda

Monday, May 18th, 2015 from 9:00 to 11:00 am at CPR office, Kimihurura, Kigali, it has been held an important meeting that put together the Steering Committee of NACS-Rwanda and its Board. The objective of the meeting was to set the internal organization of NACS Board and to examine the way forward after several steps made regarding the MoU of partnership with the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI), which took place on June 25, 2014.

NACS- Rwanda is the National Association of Christian Schools in Rwanda which is mainly composed by several Umbrella Christian Schools Organizations. At the first round, five Umbrella Christian Schools Organizations have agreed to sign the MoU with ACSI. Up to now, they have availed their personnel to compose the NACS Steering Committee and Board in order to promote the NACS Rwanda and, then, let it work effectively for the good of our children in our different schools.

The five (5) signatories to the MoU are electing the NACS Board Committee. As the main result of the meeting, the internal organization of the Board of Governors was set from the representatives of the five (5) signatories to the MoU.

The NACS Board Committee has been elected as follows :

  • Rev MUNYAMASOKO Gato Corneil (CPR) : President
  • Bishop Dr DUSINGIZE Enoch (AER) : Vice- President
  • MUGARURA Jean Baptiste (PCS) : Secretary
  • Rev. Charles MUGISHA (FOBACOR) : Treasurer
  • Richard Tailor (WFE) : Adviser

The meeting has also recognized the big role played by Rev. Dr Samuel RUGAMBAGE, General Secretary of CPR, for having been available and accompanied this long process which led to the establishment of the two strong structures, namely the NACS Steering Committee and the Board of Governors. The committee of Board of Governors was mainly given the mandate from the meeting to play the role of advocacy and setting the policies that may guide the actions of NACS Rwanda. In the same vein, this committee must promptly proceed to planning and programming emergency needs of NACS Rwanda.

It is very imperative to remember that the motives of the establishment the two structures of the National Association of Christian Schools in Rwanda (NACS Rwanda) are in the scene of joining efforts by Christian organizations for the promotion of quality education based on the use of Christian values basically in our schools.
