THE OUTREACH FOUNDATION AND THE PROTESTANT COUNCIL OF RWANDA (CPR) ARE COMMITTED TO PROMOTE SUNDAY SCHOOLS MINISTRY IN RWANDA

This Monday the 26th October 2015, the Protestant Council of Rwanda (CPR) received a delegation of OUTREACH Foundation at CPR Office. A meeting between CPR and OUTREACH Foundation delegates took place from the morning devotion (7h30) till 10h00. The aim of this visit is registered in the scene of Sunday Schools Ministry in CPR Church members. OUTREACH Foundation is a Faith based Organization which supports CPR in its program of promoting the Sunday Schools Ministry in its Church members. After the general presentation of CPR and its programs by the General Secretary, Rev. Samuel RUGAMBAGE, the meeting participants had time to follow the presentation on the current situation of the Sunday School Program in CPR. The main points highlighted through this presentation were about the main activities, the achievements, the challenges and the future plans to promote this Sunday Schools Ministry. Regarding to the main outstanding achievements, CPR Sunday school program, through the Outreach Foundation financial support, has produced Sunday school materials (URUHONGORE booklets) and succeeded to train 215 Sunday schools teachers and 219 pastors. During the discussions about the results of this Sunday school program implementation through CPR Church Members, trained pastors who were present in the meeting all appreciated the efforts put by CPR. They also recognized that CPR has helped them to change their mentality and their way of understanding the place of the Sunday school in their churches. In this same optic, these pastors affirmed that the booklets “URUHONGORE” have served through their daily teaching plans. On the subject of the future plans and interventions, this meeting concluded that the main efforts will continue to focus on training teachers about how to teach Sunday school children. Another important element raised in this meeting is the crucial need to avail a special program in accordance with young adults promoted from Sunday schools.
